Ringgenberg, Switzerland. Day 3 to 6. 25 Aug to 2 Sep 2022.

27 to 30 Aug 2022.
Ringgenberg is a village and a municipality in the Interlaken-Oberhasli administrative district in the canton of Bern in Switzerland.
If you ask me to rate between Ringgenberg and Iseltwald, I would definately choose Ringgenberg. This place is peaceful and not too crowded with tour coaches arriving with lots and lots of tourist. The train station is beautiful. We stayed in Hotel Brienzersee which is located on top of a highland overlooking Lake Brienz.

Only few minutes away from Interlaken Ost Station, Ringgenberg can also be reach via bus (Post) and ferry (Ringgenberg See). All transportation included in the Swiss Travel Pass.

Stay in a lake view accomodation, enjoy Lake View from the hotel balcony.
The night view of Lake Brienz from our room balcony. Watch the stars at night. We were so happy to be able to watch the sky filled with stars of different sizes.

Ringgenberg Castle Church/Ruins.
Visit Ringgenberg Castle Ruins while at Ringgenberg. The above picture was taken from our hotel balcony. Imagine it was so close to us.

Ringgenberg Castle Ruins.
Picture taken while walking up the slope from Ringgenberg See Ferry point.
This place is just steps away from Ringgenberg See.

Dorfmuseum is located next to Ringgenberg Church/Castle Ruins.

Nice to check out the kind of farming tools they used long time ago.
tools they used long time ago.

There was this trail near  Hotel Brienzersee just next to the railway line that leads to the back view of the castle.
We can also hike along the trail along along the lake. See above marked "trail" in blue" was where we started and we ended our exploration at Ringginberg Castle area because we did not have alot of time to hike.

Sharing a video of what we did. First we hiked down the slope, the we walked passed some "mini water fall", then we reach the beautiful lake with wildlife swiming in there. The trail is just next to the waters and we felt so relax while walking along this trail here.

Ringgenberg See Ferry point.
Love the natural settings, where we can walk down a steep slope to the ferry point from our hotel. We can also reach Ringgenberg via this ferry point.

Ringgenbert See Ferry Point.
Other than catching a ferry here, we can do bird watching here too.
Catch a ferry to Iseltwald, Giessbach falls and other parts of village connected via Lake Brienz. So long as we purchased the Swiss Travel Pass, we need not pay for ferry rides.

The difference about watching shore birds here, we can see the legs paddling inside the clear water. So glad to meet the Great Crested Grebe couple, Seagull and Mallard, all lifer to me because we do not have them in SG.

Cause it was still summer when we were here, we can still spot a handful of birds.
Black-backed Wagtail, Eurasian Jay, Italian sparrow. Again all lifers to me cause SG do not have them.

The town of Ringgenberg. Nice to stroll along the main road admiring traditional swiss buildings neatly lined out.

Ringgenberg Tourist information building.
Behind is the Ringgenberg Church & Castle Ruins. Bus stop (Post) is located next to the Tourist information.

Some Swiss houses near our hotel. How nice if I own one of them.

Conclusion.
A short stay here by the lakeside is highly recommended. One can also do a short sightseeing visit like -
1. Exploring Ringgenberg Castle Ruins
2. Stroll along the peaceful town/village admiring the beauty of the traditional Swiss cottages.
3. Hiking along the trail next to Lake Brienz.
Do note there are no restaurant here and we have only spotted one cafe here.

Itinearary at at glance.
