Hotel & Solebad Acra, Zermatt.
We stayed on the 1st level, the balcony can be seen in this picture above (Top left). Opposite the main road is the camping site where people set up tents and camp overnight. (Top and bottom right picture). This made the hotel environment not so congested with buildings, my 1st impression of the cosy environment which the hotel owns.
We booked the family room, made up of 2 bedrooms, with 1 bedroom complete with a small partition for cooking. There is a walkway that link these 2 rooms together.
We paid CHF378 per night, the cheapest accomodation among the 3 hotels we stayed for our whole trip.

The hotel gave us a very cottage feel when we entered its door (Top Left picture).
Since we were at the 1st floor, we can climb the stairs above the reception to our room (Top right picture).
Rooms were simple, equiped with an in room safe, towels and bedroom slippers. (Bottom right picture). Shower gel and lotion were provided but we did not use them.
In the bigger room (no pictures here), there is a small area for basic cooking and kitchen utencils fully provided and a dinning table with chairs provided.
The only thing we were curious was that the sockets on the walls were loose. So we need to hold the sockets tight to the wall before we pull out the plug. Wonder is ther any purpose for loose sockets?
Hotel checkout was fuss free, drop off our keys and go. They are not worried if guest take anything from them. Love this kind of hotel.

A small balcony for both rooms with mountain views. For me, I love the pine trees infront of our balcony where I could watch birds when we return in the evening. All were lifers for me since I am from Asia.

There is a table tennis table at the outdoor area, something that we wanted to play but did not due to our tight schedule. Understand there is a pool but we also did not visit.
A small lift(Top right picture) that was well camouflage enough to carry 2 persons with 2 luggages. We need to open our own lift door when we take this lift.
Doors were constructed to be able to ventilate as rooms were not fitted with air-conditioning since the weather here is cooler. So the door handle has 2 locks control. One for the locking of door, another to lock/release the top of the door for ventiliation. Initially, we thought we broke the door because it fell towards us from the top. LOL.

Breakfast was a highlight for our stay here. A wide spread of food and a nice cosy Swiss dining environment. We were suprised that hotel even served cooked rice and gluten free bread in their breakfast. As I am allergic to gluten, it really made me very happy.
In summary, it was the food that created good impression and memories of this place for my whole family. Well done, chef of Hotel Solebad Acra!!!

If given another chance to visit Zermatt, I will definately stay at this hotel again.
