Spiez, Switzerland. Day 3/9. 25 Aug to 2 Sep 2022.

27 Aug 2022, Saturday. 22 to 25 degrees celsius with hot sunshine.
Spiez Castle on Lake Thun.

Our next destination, Ringgenberg.

This is a typical illustration of the train connection from Zermattt to Ringgenberg when we used the SBB App to search for train departure time.
Ringgenberg can be connected via train, bus or ferry from Interlaken Ost station. All mode of transport is covered under Swiss Pass.
Whatever it is, we have to do a transfer at Visp station. I wanted to do more other than just train transfer after train transfer. That was how I ended up having lunch at Migros Restaurant at Visp Station.

Spiez station is small. Lockers were lined near to train platform one. Lockers were limitted, most of them taken up when we reached. Managed to find 2 lockers for our luggages. We noticed people paid for a large locker to keep their small little handbag just to be hands free. It cost CHF5 for a large locker and CHF3 for a small lockers.
Noticed there were alot of people near the castle area.

A closer look, there was an event going on.

Only this building attracted my attention while taking a walk around its town.

Lunch at Migros Restaurant.
Cost us CHF42.70. Restaurant served alot of fries, 4 of us cannot finish these 3 servings.
I wanted to try Migros restaurant's food. There is one at Interlaken West station. After reading reviews from Google Map, decided to choose this place for its ambience and convenience since we need to do our train transfer here.

Migros restaurant at Spiez is big.
They served salad buffet here too but we did not try.

Chicken CHF9.90, Meat CHF16.90, Salmon fish CHF15.90.
Migros food were priced reasonably. Realy glad we came to Spiez for lunch.

Restaurant over lake view.
The reason I chose this place for lunch over interlaken.
This shopping mall housed Migros Restaurant at Level one, supermarket at Basement one. The supermarket is big and we managed to get all our groceries for 3 dinners. Oh, the toilet here was clean and free. So happy.
We managed to get some decent food for the next 3 dinners. The salad vegetables was so cheap. only CHF2.95 for a big packet. Definately cost us more than SGD8 in SG. So glad was able to get some gluten free buns. Thier gluten free bread actually cost just slightly above the normal ones. Unlike in SG, it is double or triple the normal bread prices. Also rather thankful that we are able to get freshly grilled chicken tight at only CHF2.90. Was on offer that day, normal price is CHF4.90.

Spiez Train station.
A small and relaxed station with a small train station building. (The building at the right top corner).

Summary on Spiez.
Nothing much here other than the castle.
Worth to stop by here for Migros Restaurant and supermarket since we need to transfer our train here. Love that it was not that crowded here.
