When we reached Grindelwald First station, weather was cool. A walk outside the shade, the big, hot, bright sun was shining at us again. Aiyoh....I brought extra clothes ......

| Grindelwald First. Experience the first in everything we did here. Came across this website when I was searching for places to visit in Interlaken. https://www.jungfrau.ch/de-ch/grindelwaldfirst/adventure-package/ The adventures looked interesting and my family do not mind trying out. So we went for it. |

| Getting to Grindelwald-First was very easy. Checked our SBB App, follow their instruction, take a train to Interlaken Ost, then catch another train to Grindelwald train station. It took only 50 minutes. By day 5, we were not so bothered with the scenery outside the train window while we travel, even though it was pretty. By the way, I got confused with the name of Grindelwald stations in google map. Here is how I interpreted. In google map, Grindelwald means Grindelwald train station In google map, Grindelwald First Bahn means Grindelwald Cable car station. (Meant for cable car ride to First station) |

| A big signage just outside the train station showed us which way to walk towards the First Bahn Station. Google says it take about 10 mins. I think we took longer than that. We stroll up slowly until we saw another signage. |

| Actually we can find Grindelwald First Bahn easily even without the signage. It was located up the hill above the buildings. |

| Grindelwald First Bahn ticketing area. Actually we wanted to get the tickets for 3 adventures. When ticketing crew informed us that one of the adventrue has a queue of 2 hours at that time, we decided to go for 2 adventures. I went for 1 adventure - CHF50, they went for 2 adventures - CHF67. All fares inclusive of unlimited cable car rides after a 50% discount upon checking our Swiss Travel Pass. |

| It took about 25 mins for the cable car ride from Grindelwald to the Frist station where the the 1st cliff walk is. We decided not to follow the flow from the highest mountain. We went for adventure that do not require us to queue as our 1st destination. So we headed for the 2nd last station, Schreckfeld station, where 3 of them took the First Glider. |

| It was a nice experience looking down in our cable cars at people karting downhill and cable cars forming a line moving up or down. |
Occassionally, crews at Bort station will hang mountain cart onto the cable cars for unloading at Schreckfeld station. Mountain carts start at Schreckfeld station and end at Bort station.
First Glider - Their first.
Only about 4 people were in the queue for First Glider when we reached Schreckfeld station. Each ride can only take 4 passengers. So my family was lucky to reach there before the long queue started. After a short wait, it was their turn. I did not join them for fear that my face will be affected by the cold wind. Good for them. I look for a good spot, take a video of them in action.
Glider adventure started from Schreckfeld station. Started by moving in a backward position towards the highest point.
Ended by moving in a forward postition towards Schreckfeld station.
How was the experience? Very enjoyable. Not scary at all was their answers.

| Mountain Cart - Our first. The route was long, started with narrow and bumpy track then later with a wider and easier track. I crashed against the side of the trial a few times because I was not able to control the cart being curved and rocky. Luckily I did not crash towards the mountain slope. Being our frist in carting, we did it very slowly, as the trail was narrow and we were very worried we may crash down the mountain slope. |

Enjoy beautiful scenery while carting down the mountain trail. Highly recommended.
We started from Schreckfeld station and ended at Bort Station.
Thanks to my hubby's steady hands and carting skill, was able only one hand to shoot video using a camera nd one hand to cart down the track.
It would be best to bring along a GoPro, mount it on the bike for video shooting. Using camera can end up with a very shaky video. I did a slow motion for the above video to made it look less shaky. Not advisable to cart with one hand too.
How was the experience? Scary and fun.

| First Cliff Walk presented by Tissot. An amazing place. The mountain has no trees, bald and "botak" and yet so beautiful. Located at First Station, the station at the top, we need to take a cable car from Bort Station after our mountain cart adventure to First Station to enjoy this walk. A lot of cows were spotted when we were walking up the trail towards the cliff walk. While riding the cable car up to First station, long queues were spotted at First Glider and First Mountain cart adventure. We were so glad we atempted these two adventures first before going up to First Cliff Walk. |

| We joined the crowd, queued for 30 minutes to take a picture of ourselves with the breathtaking view. When the view is awesome, it was like enjoying the beautiful view at a higher ground for antoher 30 minutes. Nothing to loose. |

| Tracking at Grindelwald First mountains was an amazing experience. Infact, any place is a good place for a instagram picture. |

| This spot reminded me of an old film "The sound of music". |
I named these the "Tourist cows". The prettiest cows I spotted from all the attractions we visited. They have their own "sound of music" too.

| Berghaus Bort. https://goo.gl/maps/maXL3fQUXMCB5WQE6 Our lunch - Swiss Rosti with cheese placed separately requested by us, pork chop with rice and salad. Drink was - one white wine and one cup of tea. Portion were not huge, just nice for 1 person per portion. Somehow, 4 of us cannot finish the food. We only manged to finish 50% of the cheese. Not sure what cheese was served to us. To me, it has a salted fish smell, never eaten before... well... we don't really like cheese anyway. Total bill cost us CHF85, we were so happy with the lady crew service that we tipped her CHF10. Too much into this beautiful mountain that we have almost forgotten about our lunch. We started to feel hungry after 2pm. Restaurant located at First station was very crowded with tourist having a drink there. So we took a cable car all the way to Bort station. We managed to find a place to sit with less crowd and realised how beautiful this place was. It was nearly 3pm when we have lunch. |

| Dinner from Migros Spiez and Coop Interlaken. We planned to get some hot dinner from Coop restaurant at Interlaken Ost. Restaurant looked more like getting ready to close when we reached there at around 5.30pm. We have no choice but to check out the supermarket for take away food again. Most of the items were sold out when we were there at 5.30 to 6.30pm. Realised their operating hours end at 7pm. No wonder all the food were already cleared. Coop take out food cost min CHF16 each here and the roasted chicken drumstick cost CHF4.90. Salad was around CHF4. We got some salad prawns cost around CHF5. Cup noodles CHF3.20. Coop food can be costly compared to Migros and Denner. Migros Smoked salmon cost CHF4.95 for 200g. Same price as SG. Imagine our total dinner here cost us about CHF54. |

A awesome place to visit for all the "first experiences".
Worth it to take part in at least one adventure, to earn that unlimited cable car rides. Just like us, we took cable car rides in between stations for more than 2 times to get to our prefered location.
Strongly recommended to dine-in at a mountain view restaurant to complete this mountain experience.
