Iseltwald, Switzerland. Day 4/9. 25 Aug to 2 Sep 2022.

| Iseltwald See. (Picture taken from ferry, on the way to Giessbach) The pier near Iseltwald Ferry Point, well know to lots of asians, all because of a Korean drama "Crash Landing on you". The male lead actor Hyun Bin played piano on this pier. I remembered watching this drama and we too were attracted by the beautiful lake. At that time, we have never done any research on Switzerland's attraction. So not sure which lake is beautiful. I decided to visit this lake since we do not know any other lakes and curious to know if it is as beautiful as in the drama. Above picture shows tourist posing at the pier. Later that day, about 3pm, there was a long queue just to have a picture taken here. An example of how crazy Korean drama can impact a place of interest. |
By the way, the ferry ride was really enjoyable. The lake was calm, the water was sparkling clear, the speed was not too slow. Lake Breinz is beautiful. We realised that ferry ride with visit to any villiage here is beautiful. Need not be Iseltwald alone.

| The first thing we wanted to do was eat. It was about 1.30pm when we reached this place, a highly recommended place by google map reviews. It was crowded and unfortunately, there were no seats for us on the 2nd floor outdoor area. We ended up seated downstairs at the indoor area. Not too bad, once the lady owner opened the windows, it was airy. |

| Fried fish fillet, hamburg steak and Swiss sausage salad. Lady owner was loud and spoke french (we guessed). We do not understand what she said, but via some hands gesture, we manged to get our orders done. What ever she tried to tell us, our answers were always - Yes... Oh.... Thank you. We understand their portions were big, and us, being small eaters, we ordered 3 sets of meals for 4 persons to share. We learnt that when we order 3 sets of food, there will only be 3 sets of cutleries given. Lady owner explained that if we need one more set of cutleries, there will be a charge of CHF2. Upon serving, 2 complimentary buns were served too. These buns were so delicious, the best we ate in Switzerland so far. As for the food, all cost below CHF20 per serving and all very big portion and yummy, so 4 of us for 3 sets of food was enough for us. Not that we want to save, we just do not want to waste food. |

| Time for a stroll here. Iseltwald is a small village. Roads were about this size. There were people enjoying lake activities. More like a lakeside resort. |

| The village is really small. We completed walking the whole place in less than 1 hour. It was very very hot, all of us suffered sun burnt and having no place to retreat to, we decided to go back to hotel to rest. Our next ferry will only arrive in 1 hour. So we decided to wait for 30mins to catch a bus to Interlaken Ost station, then catch another bus back to Ringgenberg. We never imagine the crowd waiting for the one and only bus was big too. While at the bus station, we spotted a long queue for the one and only toilet that cost CHF2 per head. But these tourist were smart. It was via a coin insert at the door toilet system, so they hold on to the door, the next one can get into the cubicle for free. After 30 mins wait, the bus finally arrived. With no queue system, everyone rush up the bus. All tourist. It was not a good experience. |

| At Ringgenberg -The clear lake water just below our hotel. It was 5pm when we reached our hotel. Weather was better over here as there were lots of trees. We regained our energy and not wanting to waste our time over this beautiful place, we went out for a short walk at a trial next to the lake near our hotel. Ringgenberg was so much better than Iseltwald. Actually, we can go inside the lake and play with water if we want to. The water was cold, so we dare not get into the water. |

| Dinner was home brought instant noodles with smoked ham and salad from Migros Spiez at our balcony overlooking the lake. Love this family bonding moment. |
In summary.
Iseltwald is highly overrated. A small village and supposed to be a lakeside resort place.
Youtubers recommended it for being beautiful due to its Swiss cottage buildings and quiet village. However with loads and loads of tourist brought there by tour coach, it lost its charms of being a small and quiet village.
The reason for most of asians who visited here was because of the Korean drama that promoted the beautiful lake. We can enjoy Lake Brienz from other villages such as Ringgenberg, Brienz and Giessbach, not only in Iseltwald. Zurich, Lucerne and Rhine falls has equally beautiful lake.
In my opinion, if we visited Ringgenberg and Giessbach, we can omit this place if time is limited.
