Our 1st day waking up in Taipei, feeling very excited to try whatever we already have in mind in Taipei. 

1. Carrefour at Ximending

Decided to visit this place as the Top priority as I just love grocery shopping when I am in another country. I love looking at what supermarket sell. Most of the time, I can find fresh fruits and alot of refreshment that we cannot find here. If not, just compare the prices and I can be very happy. You can say I "xiao". But thats me.
Following the hint of another blogger, I took exit 1 at Ximending MRT station. Then used the google map to guide me walk there. Its about 10 to 15mins walk.

So excited with this.  Different kinds of drip coffee at reasonable prices.

Chun Tsui coffee/tea. Only at NT22. Singapore is selling at $2.75 to $3+ 😲

This bread very interesting. Mochi bread.

Bought 2 US peach. Fresh & delicious and 2 boxes of taiwan jellies.

I ended up buying these

Yakult sweets for my colleauges. They said can only get this at Taiwan.Got some taiwan goodies too. The taiwan beer. Cheap and good. About NT20 to NT30. Cheaper than iced coffee.

You can have a hair cut at the 1st level of Carrefour building

50嵐, Named Koi in Singapore. You can find it here too. Forgotten how much, something like NT30.

My verdict for Carrefour, yes, as tourist, it is a good place to get our local produce to bring home.

2. Ah Zhong Mian Xian near Pacific Sogo 太平洋SOGO 忠孝館

After bringing back our purchases to our hotel, we headed out to search for this much talked about Ah Zhong Mian Xian. We decided to go to the outlet near Pacific Sogo, near Zhongxiao Fuxing MRT station. Read form people's blog that this stall has seats for diners and taste the same as the one in Ximending. So since it is so hot, we decided to come here.

We ordered each a small bow. NT50 each.

Yes, the eating place is cool with clean tables. Very comfortable. After adding more vinegar, My daughter said it is very nice. As for me, its another travel food. Not bad.

3. ATT 4Fun shopping Mall

We are supposed to take the red line to Taipei 101 and walk to ATT 4 Fun shopping mall.

But, we thought we should just take the blue line and stop at Taipei City Hall station and walk there.

In the end, we actually lost our way after exiting Taipei City Hall station and we walk a big detour to reach ATT 4 Fun Shopping Mall. Kind of blessing in disguised. We walk pass the memorial hall and have a good picture of Taipei 101.

We are here finally. Shopping here is like shopping at 313 in Orchard Road. Nice.

Immediately we look for this place. It is a sister company of Uniqlo, selling lower range products and cheaper prices. But we were pretty disappointed that the selection were not as good as those in Japan. So we left this store empty handed.

Went to this store of dinner. Less than SGD20 for these and shared by 2 person. Enough for us as we are small eaters. We actually dare not dine at this place as we found the store rather quiet abt near to 6pm. We decided to eat here after we saw a big group of locals went inside the restaurant. We then realised most of the locals do not eat raw fish. Actually not bad woh.

Near ATT 4 Fun, The Shin Kong Mitsukoshi shopping Malls. There is a open air place selling cuisine of different countries. Quite interesting. But again, we left empty handed.
