Switzerland is famous for its mountains and lakes. So my itinerary for this trip must include the mountains and lakes. We have statyed 2 nights in the mountains area. Next is the lake area.

Hotel Brienzersee, Ringgenberg.
My aim was to base ourselves in Interlaken area so that we can visit attractions located in Lake Brienz and Grindelwald. It would be best to get a hotel near Interlaken Ost Station, an interchange that serves all the transfer between all cities and villages. However, I was not able to find a hotel that I like near Interlaken Ost station. So I found one hotel just 1 train station away from Interlaken Ost Station.

It was a little uphill walk from the train station. A little difficult as we need to pull our luggages uphill to reach the hotel.

The minute we stepped into our rooms, we were attracted by the breathtaking view of the lake from our room balcony. Yes!!! I have made the right choice!!!
This was the most expensive place we booked for the whole trip and it was all worth it.
We paid CHF245 per room per night. It can cost more if I book nearer to date of stay.

A small boutique hotel, where the front desk was served by a senior lady. She welcomed us with a big smile mentioning my name. We reached there about 3 plus in the afternoon and she must be waiting for us. After the check in procedure, she briefed us on the room keys.
The keys has a huge keyring. We were supposed to exchange the room keys with a smaller keyboard key by unlocking and locking them into the "key board" at the hotel reception. Such a smart way to monitor if the guest is out or not. We were also given the Interlaken travel pass but we did not use them since we owned the Swiss Travel Pass.
From hotel backyard, I was able to view the Ringgenberg church, where the Ringgenberg Castle ruins is located. Such awesome view.

Hotel has a backyard where they serve drinks. Hardly anyone pay a drink to sit there during our trip. Too many tourist attractions to visit then to just sit and laze around. We can sit here for our breakfast, but was too cold for us in the morning.

Just a short walk will lead us to Hotel Brienzersee from the bus-stop. There were signages from the main road so that tourist will not get loss.
Walk down towards Lake Brienz is the Ringgenberg See (Ferry station).

Our dinner for day one at Ringgenberg.
The only down side of staying in this hotel is that there are no restaurant here. Hotel also do not cater food for guest here. Luckily I did my research and we got our groceries from Migros Spiez before checking in.
Initially, we thought we can dine at Interlaken Ost Station area before coming back. However, we always ended up reaching Interlaken Ost about 4 to 5pm. It was too early for dinner. We were tired and wanted to get back to hotel to rest. This was the reason why we ended up buying take out food from supermarket and eat in.
Hotel do help guest to order pizza if we need dinner. My family were tired of bread, and me being gluten allergic, we omit the idea of getting pizza.

Breakfast was provided in our hotel package. Staff did a briefing on the breakfast rules - such as do not use hands to pick up food from the buffet table. Must use the tongs provided to us individually... very serious face indeed.
Though rooms rates were not cheap, breakfast was very basic and simple with only 1 cooked item. Hardboiled eggs. The rest were pre prepared food such as smoked ham, salmon, cheese, bread, cakes and croissant. Of course, coffee and tea were included as well.
Lucky the lake view cheer us up though very disappointed with the breakfast.
Especially for me, there were no rice or gluten free options.

A view of hotel from the Ringgenberg ferry point.
If I were to turn back the clock, I will still book this place, then bring along a small rice cooker to cook rice. LOL.

Itinearary at at glance.
