Hotel 73  http://www.hotel73.com.tw/en/ Located just minutes away from Dongmen station. Unlike most travellers, I prefer not to stay at Ximending area or Taipei main station where the happenings are. I prefer here with less noise and just few MRT stations away from all the attractions. I booked the Elite Twin Room. Though small, it is big enough for 2 of us. I do not regret for booking this hotel again and returning. Its the 3rd stay now. Will tell you what happened on my 1st 2 stays that made me come back again. Elite Twin Room - Comfortable bed, pillows and bed   Laundromat - it is available for guest for free. These includes free washing detergent and net. There is also a dryer for us to dry the clothes after wash. Very good for long stay where we need not pack alot of clothes with us. Free Tea Coffee making facilities Toiletries including a "brush" comb This is always my kind of breakfast if I have inclusive breakfast in any hotel. I love the catus ...

This is me in pain in the plane. Had a trigeminal neuralgia attack after being blown by cold wind in the plane. Can feel my left head in pain. So I quickly wrapped my whole head in the blanket and start to message my face, jaw an head. Luckily, after 2 hours of warm and message, I started to feel better. But have to leave my blanket on for the rest of my trip.  I had my 1st Trigeminal Neuralgia attack on my 2nd trip to Taipei. So I thought if I am not fated to visit Taipei? Lucky me, I survived the ordeal and enjoyed my whole trip. 13 Aug 2017-Day 5 Taipei Our last full day in Taipei. Too many places to go. Better set our priority. 1. We have not eaten taiwan pan fried meat dumpling 2. Window shopping at East Metro Underground Mall and Zhongxiao East Road 3. Visit Wufenpu wholesale market 4. Taipei Main MRT station Underground Shopping Mall 5. One more round of shave ice 1) Sihaiyoulong pan fried dumpling shop四海遊龍鍋貼專賣店 We check with Hotel staff on where can we find Local Taiwan pan fried dumplings 鍋貼 Hotel staff told us there are actually 2 major food chain in taiwan. Sihaiyoulong fried dumpling shop四海遊龍鍋貼專賣店 and Bafangyunji / 8ways 八方雲集 We search the map and looked for one nearest to hotel. Decided to choose this store as it has got a higher ratings by google reviews and we need to travel 2 MRT stops to this place. Most convenient. Taipei Day 4- 12 Aug 2017  Our 5th itinerary (After Nanmen, Braised Pork rice) Shida Night Market 師大夜市 Another night market. Honestly, we are not that keen in street food. So we went there to shop. There are plenty of shops there selling clothes. More for teenagers as it is located near the university. Managed to buy each 1 top and socks plus tarts from one cake shop that we spotted while walking towards Shida market along the main road. To reach Shida, just take a train to Taipower MRT station. Another night market with plenty of shops to browse We bought these 3 tarts at only NT175. It is so delicious

Taipei Day 4- 12 Aug 2017  Start our morning at these places 青島豆漿店  No. 139-3, Section 1, Hangzhou South Road, Zhongzheng District, Taipei City, Taiwan 100 Louisa Coffee 路易．莎咖啡(杭州店)  No. 153 , Section 1, Hangzhou South Road, Zhongzheng District, Taipei City, Taiwan 100 We heard so much about how good Taipei soya milk, sao bing and you tiao.   燒餅油條 Decided to skip our Hotel's breakfast and head to a shop just a short walk from Hotel 73. Not sure if this is a famous shop, but when we reach there, the queue is quite long. Lucky, stall owner is quite fast in serving his customer. As there are no seats available, we decided to buy and eat them in our room. Since it is just a short walk. Bought a cup of Louisa special coffee at only NT55. Taste very nice. We do not like the soya milk. A burnt flavour. Smell like smelly tofu. The rest is OK. Guess I can  have nicer you tiao in our market here. As for the sao bing, not bad. Like the chives ...

Taipei Day 4- 12 Aug 2017  Our 3rd itinerary - Tamsui (After Dongmen Market) I like Tamsui sceanery You can take a ferry to Fisherman's wharf To reach Tamsui - Take the  Tamsui-Xinyi Line  to Tamsui MRT station.  I have visited this place in Mar 2013 and Dec 2013, that was spring time and winter time. I love this place as there is this breeze when we walk along the old street. This time, as it is summer, we have a different feeling. It is sooooo hot. So it is sooooo unbearable.  So we decided to walk within the centre street as it is shadier. Yes, I still love this place. Tamsui is a good place to look for local goodies to bring home. Tie Dan, fish crackers are some examples. Just like any street or night market, they also has plenty of stall selling fried chicken, fried cuttle fish, grilled Taiwan sausage, grilled scallops etc. 1st thing we did was to look for the latest craze.
