Hotel 73 - My Taipei hotel

Located just minutes away from Dongmen station. Unlike most travellers, I prefer not to stay at Ximending area or Taipei main station where the happenings are. I prefer here with less noise and just few MRT stations away from all the attractions.
I booked the Elite Twin Room. Though small, it is big enough for 2 of us. I do not regret for booking this hotel again and returning. Its the 3rd stay now. Will tell you what happened on my 1st 2 stays that made me come back again.

Laundromat - it is available for guest for free. These includes free washing detergent and net. There is also a dryer for us to dry the clothes after wash. Very good for long stay where we need not pack alot of clothes with us.

This is always my kind of breakfast if I have inclusive breakfast in any hotel. I love the catus leave, which I can never find them in Singapore. One of the reason I come back here. |


I like this hotel for many reasons. It is a boutique hotel, so you can feel some "warm" while staying here. Staff are ever ready to talk to you if you talk to them. Ever ready to assist us if we need help. Checkout is non fussy. Just hand over the keys and you are off.
My this trip, I was surprised they sent me a card (hand written by all the staff) and a piece of cake on my last day of stay there. The staff were quite cute, they greeted us cheekily when they saw us returning. When we saw the "surprise" in our room, then we realised what is going on.
I have stayed 2 times in year 2013 with them. 2 deep impression that I will never forget.
My Taipei trip in Mar 2013
At that time Elite Twin room do not have a safe. So we placed our passport with the counter staff for safekeeping. Not knowing that the check out is so swift, we forgotten to asked for our passport. We only realised it at the airport. Luckily, they are able to help me arranged for a trusted person to send the passport over. Wow. So efficient.
My Taipei Trip in Dec 2013
I was ill on the 2nd day of trip. Due to the cold wind, I was diagnosed with Trigeminal Neuralgia.
Honestly, without the staff help, I would have gone to seek the wrong doctor and did the wrong treatment. I suffered severe headache, toothache and pain on my face. On my 3rd day, I check with staff on a clinic close by so that I can seek treatment. Staff was attentive. Patiently asked me what are my symptoms were and suggested I go to a doctor meant for treating nerves. If not for the staff, I would have ended up in a dental clinic removing my tooth thinking it was tooth ache.

Upon departure, we were supposed to catch a flight back and required to leave hotel at 6am. Meaning to say missing the Hotel's breakfast. The staff arranged for takeaway for us so that we can have our breakfast in the taxi. How thoughtful of them.
My deepest impression on this trip
We went to Bagua tea garden to view the "Thousand Island Lake" with the help of Staff Alex. He helped us book a taxi for us the next day. That night, he saw us returning, and check with us if our trip went on well. The next day, I went to him to show him my pictures and he also shared his experiences and pictures with us without hesitation. This is what I meant, the staff is like family to us. We can feel the "warm" here.
Maybe I should come back again when I have plans to visit Taipei.
