Our 3rd itinerary - Tamsui (After Dongmen Market)

You can take a ferry to Fisherman's wharf

To reach Tamsui - Take the Tamsui-Xinyi Line to Tamsui MRT station. 
I have visited this place in Mar 2013 and Dec 2013, that was spring time and winter time. I love this place as there is this breeze when we walk along the old street.
This time, as it is summer, we have a different feeling. It is sooooo hot. So it is sooooo unbearable. So we decided to walk within the centre street as it is shadier. Yes, I still love this place.

Tamsui is a good place to look for local goodies to bring home. Tie Dan, fish crackers are some examples. Just like any street or night market, they also has plenty of stall selling fried chicken, fried cuttle fish, grilled Taiwan sausage, grilled scallops etc.

1st thing we did was to look for the latest craze. The castella cake. Googled and found this shop. When we reach the street, we realised there were a few of them with exactly the same signage. So we just go to the one that google map points that we are there. LOL.

The cakes were huge, and taste fluffy and good. Yes it is just a normal egg sponge baked cake. But it is really good. Cost NT80, this cake can feed 7 person.

Taste refreshing. But.... it melted very fast and we have to finish it within 3 minutes.

Shop selling Tamsui local goodies. They have different kind of eggs. The good place to look for gifts to bring home.
三味蛋, 3 flavours eggs. The yoke taste like salted egg, the egg white taste like century and Tie Dang 
The same shop sells braised duck wings in sealed packaging. They also sell braised ducks innards. Understand from the shop assistant that these are the hot items that Hongkongers will buy.  I like these, so bought a few package from there.

190728 Aeon Tebrau Malaysia

Aeon Tebrau shopping mall, JB Malaysia We read that this Mall is twice the size of Aeon Bukit Indah. Though I was able to read blogs on how big it is, I was not able to find its directory. AEON may have its website but I just cannot find its tenant list. So here is the tenant list that I manage to get when I was there recently. Though they have only 3 level, it is big enough for us to walk the whole day, practically shop until we drop. Ground floor 1st floor 2nd floor If you are food lover like me, you will find this place a food heaven. Especially you only pay 1/3 of the price for restaurant food we have to pay over in Singapore. Walking Trail - MacRitchie Reservoir

171202 - This time we walk around the whole reservoir. I guess it is about 11km. Took 4 hours to finish the whole course. Walk around the whole reservoir. Start from Venus Drive, go southwards to MacRitchie Reservoir, continued westward via Lornie Trail, then northwest to Golf Link, east to Sime Track and back to Venus Carpark. We took 4 hours. Feel so good. Spotted durian trees with lots of durian at Drongo Trail. One guy told us he climb and flip over the waist high fence from the boardwalk to check on the top right fruit but realised it has been eaten by some animals. After Drongo Trail, head southwards via MacRiche Nature Trail. You see such scenery until...... Joggers from school running fast n asking ppl to give way to them. That really spoil our peace n slowed down our walk. So it would be better to walk around 4pm if we like to explore this trail. About 1.5 hour time, we reach MacRitchie Reservoir Park.
