1) My TN experience onboard SQ
Don't laugh. This is me in pain in the plane. Had a trigeminal neuralgia attack after being blown by cold wind in the plane. Can feel my left head in pain. So I quickly wrapped my whole head in the blanket and start to message my face, jaw an head. Luckily, after 2 hours of warm and message, I started to feel better. But have to leave my blanket on for the rest of my trip. 
I had my 1st Trigeminal Neuralgia attack on my 2nd trip to Taipei. So I thought if I am not fated to visit Taipei? Lucky me, I survived the ordeal and enjoyed my whole trip. On my flight back, I wore a beanie (bought from Forever 21 in Taipei) and a thicker face mask so that my head is warm for the whole journey back to Singapore. I survived.

Took the flight at 11.55am. Reach Taipei, Taoyuan airport at 4.45pm.

2) Where to get a prepaid prepaid SIM/4G card in Taoyuan Airport
The first thing we did when whe arrived is to look for a prepaid SIM card.
We saw people already queuing inside the custom area before collecting their baggage to buy a prepaid SIM card. (Don't follow the queue!!!!)
When you exit the custom area, turn left all the way to the end of the building, turn left again. You see 3 telephone operators (forgotten to take a picture).
3 operators side by side. Their plan and $$$ all stated in their sign board. All unlimited data plan.
The difference may the the different package due to local call time. No queue.
At Taoyuan Airport, we bought a prepaid SIM card at only NT400 for use of 6 days unlimited data and 7mins local calls. I think Taipei has very generous prepaid data plan for tourist. Unlimited Data plan???? WOW.... 

3) The Easy Card - For MRT / bus travel in Taipei
Next, we need to get the Easy Card for taking MRT
Need to pay  a card fee NT100 for the Easy Card. After that top up whatever amount you want for travel while you are in Taipei.  This card acts like a transitlink card in Singapore. So we need not keep on buying tickets for every trip. Very convenient with this. With this card, we are ready to take the Toayuan Airport MRT from airport to Taipei Main Station. 
4) The Taoyuan MRT train line
From Taoyuan Airport to Taipei Main Station - The MRT fee is only NT165. We took the expressed line and it took 45 mins to reach Taipei main station. The train ride was very smooth and quiet. We love the ride.

Upon reaching Taipei Main station, it takes about 15mins to walk from Taipei Taoyuan MRT station to Taipei Metro Line. All are located underground/air conditioned. So we just enjoy our stroll. On our way, we walk to the Underground shopping mall to see if there are any thing interesting for shopping. As a result, we took an extra 1 hour to reach our hotel.

Oh yes, we stayed in Hotel 73, my 3rd time I am putting up at this Hotel. It is located at Dongmen Station. So from Taipei Main station, we just need to take the red line to there. Only pay NT20 for the ride. Very convenient.


4) Yongkang street
Located just 10 minutes from Hotel 73, there are quite a lot of food to eat there. However, It was Wednesday closed to 9pm when we arrived so most of the street food stalls were closed . We only found a onion pancake store and a couple of Japanese restaurant.
We decided to dine at a Japanese Ramen shop as that is the only shop that is still open.
We went in and pick our order. The waitress told us they will be closed in 15mins time and that we need to finish our dinner fast. However, they are fine if we finished before 10pm.

After the ramen, we went shopping in Watson. Bought some toiletries before proceeding have our dessert before heading back to hotel and call it a day.

190728 Aeon Tebrau Malaysia

Aeon Tebrau shopping mall, JB Malaysia We read that this Mall is twice the size of Aeon Bukit Indah. Though I was able to read blogs on how big it is, I was not able to find its directory. AEON may have its website but I just cannot find its tenant list. So here is the tenant list that I manage to get when I was there recently. Though they have only 3 level, it is big enough for us to walk the whole day, practically shop until we drop. Ground floor 1st floor 2nd floor If you are food lover like me, you will find this place a food heaven. Especially you only pay 1/3 of the price for restaurant food we have to pay over in Singapore. Walking Trail - MacRitchie Reservoir

171202 - This time we walk around the whole reservoir. I guess it is about 11km. Took 4 hours to finish the whole course. Walk around the whole reservoir. Start from Venus Drive, go southwards to MacRitchie Reservoir, continued westward via Lornie Trail, then northwest to Golf Link, east to Sime Track and back to Venus Carpark. We took 4 hours. Feel so good. Spotted durian trees with lots of durian at Drongo Trail. One guy told us he climb and flip over the waist high fence from the boardwalk to check on the top right fruit but realised it has been eaten by some animals. After Drongo Trail, head southwards via MacRiche Nature Trail. You see such scenery until...... Joggers from school running fast n asking ppl to give way to them. That really spoil our peace n slowed down our walk. So it would be better to walk around 4pm if we like to explore this trail. About 1.5 hour time, we reach MacRitchie Reservoir Park.
