This page is not sponsored.  Honest opinion to share with everyone who likes to know more about this hotel. Check in 27 Aug 2022, Check out 30 Aug 2022.  Switzerland is famous for its mountains and lakes. So my itinerary for this trip must include the mountains and lakes. We have statyed 2 nights in the mountains area. Next is the lake area. Hotel Brienzersee, Ringgenberg. My aim was to base ourselves in Interlaken area so that we can visit attractions located in Lake Brienz and Grindelwald. It would be best to get a hotel near Interlaken Ost Station, an interchange that serves all the transfer between all cities and villages. However, I was not able to find a hotel that I like near Interlaken Ost station. So I found one hotel just 1 train station away from Interlaken Ost Station. It was a little uphill walk from the train station. A little difficult as we need to pull our luggages uphill to reach the hotel.  The minute we stepped into our rooms, we were attracted by the breathtaking v

Switzerland supermarket, Switzerland shopping, what to eat in Switzerland. 25 Aug to 2 Sep 2022

In this page, I will share what we shopped, ate and noticed in groceries store in Switzerland. It is good to know that in Switzerland, all supermarkets do not give away plastic bags. For every purchase, we used our own bags to pack our purchases.  For some eateries for eg Mcdonalds and ZFC, they provide paper bags for our food. Before I start, like to share that Evian water in Switzerland is really cheap. CHF1.05 per 1.5l bottle at Coop. Though people recommend drinking free water from their fountain, we dare not try. So Evain became our main source of drinking water. For smaller bottle at CHF1, the bottle has a special drinking cap. We wanted to bring 2 empty bottles back as water bottle, but the hotel staff threw them away while doing room cleaning on our last day. So sad. 1. Availability of cooked food in general. Yes, there were plenty of restaurants around us during our trip. About 80% of restaurant we visited have their menu printed in German. So we need to use our google transla

Spiez, Switzerland. Day 3/9. 25 Aug to 2 Sep 2022.

27 Aug 2022, Saturday. 22 to 25 degrees celsius with hot sunshine. Spiez Castle on Lake Thun. Our next destination, Ringgenberg. This is a typical illustration of the train connection from Zermattt to Ringgenberg when we used the SBB App to search for train departure time. Ringgenberg can be connected via train, bus or ferry from Interlaken Ost station. All mode of transport is covered under Swiss Pass.  Whatever it is, we have to do a transfer at Visp station. I wanted to do more other than just train transfer after train transfer. That was how I ended up having lunch at Migros Restaurant at Visp Station. Spiez station is small. Lockers were lined near to train platform one. Lockers were limitted, most of them taken up when we reached. Managed to find 2 lockers for our luggages. We noticed people paid for a large locker to keep their small little handbag just to be hands free. It cost CHF5 for a large locker and CHF3 for a small lockers. Noticed there were alot of people near the ca

A short hike at Zermatt, Switzerland. Day 2/9. 25 Aug to 2 Sep 2022.

26 Aug 2022, Friday 5pm. 18 degrees celsius. No sunshine after rain, so we need to wear a scarf and a jacket to keep warm. A short hike in Zermatt. Highlands next to the train station. Just opposite our hotel, next to the train station,  there is this highland with tracks meant for hiking. This place has no trees thus making it best to view Zermatt valley while hiking.  We realised it was quite dangerous to track to the higher ground without the tracking sticks. The track seems to be sandy by small stones, making the path rather slippery. We can easily slip if not careful. The hiking trail is marked by green dotted lines.  We stayed in Hotel & Solebad Arca. We were here for only 2 nights meaning only 1 day for Zermatt. The heavy rain stopped around 4.30 to 5.00pm. We need to enjoy Zermatt outdoors before sunset about 8.15pm. Either we do it or we will never get to do it. A view of our hotel from the highlands next to train station. Actually it was still drizzling at around 5pm. W
