Birding Diary 6 Mar 2022 - MacRitchie Reservoir

 Decided to visit the Crimson Sunbird from Jurong Lake Gardens after lunch. 

This is the place that we will always relate to when we mention MacRitchie.
In Sep 2021, there were 2 Crimson sunbirds that attracted plenty of photographers. When I did my recce on the 3 Mar, this place was very quiet. I thought the birds were gone for good.
Just as I thought I have wasted a trip, this female Crimson Sunbird appeared.

After a while, this male crimson appeared.


Look at this colourful bird. There is yellow in addition to the red and blue feathers.


The park was so noisy due to different group of gatherings near this area of the park where people sang and dance so loudly. Luckily, the birds came back to look for its food.

Though this place is filled with greenery, we were pretty surprised not much wildlife can be spotted here. We left in about 2 hours using the Crimsons as our photography practice targets.

Talking about wildlife, just wanna share that there are plenty of monkeys around and were aggressive.  Was wondering why this monkey is so concerned about the younger one on 3 Mar. When I look at the details on this picture after getting home, I just realised it was injured. Must have been involved in some fight.

190728 Aeon Tebrau Malaysia

Aeon Tebrau shopping mall, JB Malaysia We read that this Mall is twice the size of Aeon Bukit Indah. Though I was able to read blogs on how big it is, I was not able to find its directory. AEON may have its website but I just cannot find its tenant list. So here is the tenant list that I manage to get when I was there recently. Though they have only 3 level, it is big enough for us to walk the whole day, practically shop until we drop. Ground floor 1st floor 2nd floor If you are food lover like me, you will find this place a food heaven. Especially you only pay 1/3 of the price for restaurant food we have to pay over in Singapore. Walking Trail - MacRitchie Reservoir

171202 - This time we walk around the whole reservoir. I guess it is about 11km. Took 4 hours to finish the whole course. Walk around the whole reservoir. Start from Venus Drive, go southwards to MacRitchie Reservoir, continued westward via Lornie Trail, then northwest to Golf Link, east to Sime Track and back to Venus Carpark. We took 4 hours. Feel so good. Spotted durian trees with lots of durian at Drongo Trail. One guy told us he climb and flip over the waist high fence from the boardwalk to check on the top right fruit but realised it has been eaten by some animals. After Drongo Trail, head southwards via MacRiche Nature Trail. You see such scenery until...... Joggers from school running fast n asking ppl to give way to them.
